Doublebassist Peter Korman is a representative of the young Slovak jazz generation. His musical beginnings are linked to Slovak folklore, which he dedicated for 8 years. He also studied classical double bass at the Conservatory in Banská Bystrica. Later, he continued studying the jazz doublebass in Brno at the Janáček academy of music with Jiří Slavík and in Berlin at the Jazz Institute Berlin with Gregory Cohen. He is steadily acting mostly in the formations Jiří Kotača/Alf Carlsson Quartet, Milokraj, Matúš Jakabčic SK/CZ bigband, Martin Konvička Trio or Ľubomír Gašpar Cimbal projekt. He has worked with renowned musicians like Juraj Bartoš(SK), David Doružka(CZ), Gábor Winand(HU), Elsa Valle(Cuba), Gábor Bolla(HU), Sándor Molnár(HU), Sullivan Fortner(USA). His double bass sounds on several albums, mostly from jazz, but also from classical music, folklore and world music. He released this year his debut CD with his original music Root System.

Kontrabasista Peter Korman je predstaviteľ mladej slovenskej jazzovej generácie. Jeho hudobné začiatky sa viažu k slovenskému folklóru, ktorému sa venoval 8 rokov. Súbežne vyštudoval klasický kontrabas na konzervatóriu v Banskej Bystrici. Neskôr pokračoval v štúdiu jazzového kontrabasu v Brne na JAMU u Jiřího Slavíka a v Berlíne na Jazz Institut Berlin pod vedením Gregory Cohena. Stabilne pôsobí vo formáciách Jiří Kotača/Alf Carlsson Quartet, Milokraj Marty Topferovej, Matúš Jakabčic SK/CZ bigband, Martin Konvička Trio alebo Ľubomír Gašpar Cimbal projekt. Spolupracoval s renomovanými hudobníkmi ako Juraj Bartoš(SK), David Doružka(CZ), Gábor Winand(HU), Elsa Valle(Cuba), Gábor Bolla(HU), Sándor Molnár(HU) alebo Sullivan Fortner(USA). Jeho kontrabas znie na viacerých albumoch prevažne z jazzového prostredia, ale aj z oblasti vážnej hudby, folklóru a world music. Tento rok mu vychádza debutové CD s jeho autorskou hudbou Root System.
